Instructor The lead instructor is a mother of three
who started dancing at the age of five. She initially trained in ballet, tap and jazz at
Showcase Dance Studio and then continued at School of Theatrical Dance under
the instruction of Theresa D’Alessandro as a member of the Great
Falls Dance Company. Your child's instructor earned a B.B.A. with a minor in Dance from
the College of William and Mary. During her time at William and Mary she was a
performer and choreographer for the college dance company, Orchesis. She currently enjoys being a wife, mother and
taking Zumba and barre class! She is delighted to have the opportunity to teach
young dancers the joy of dance!
Why Dance? Dance is a great way to develop many
attributes of a growing child. Physically, dancers use their entire body to build
up strength, balance, flexibility and coordination. Socially, children make new friends, discover
new ways of expression, and gain confidence and poise. Cognitively, students learn
musicality, gain memory skills through remembering a series of steps, and listening skills are utilized intensively. The best reason to dance though is because it
is a JOYFUL activity!
